Provost’s Professor of Communication, Journalism, and Cinematic Arts Henry Jenkins told CNN in a Feb. 9 article that ”Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace” created an open wound for “Star Wars” fanatics.
The article outlined why some original ”Star Wars” fans aren’t pleased with the newer movies. “The Phantom Menace” was re-released to theaters today in 3-D.
“‘The Phantom Menace’ is something the adult ‘Star Wars’ fans continually reference,” Jenkins said. “It’s something they care about deeply. It’s a trauma in the community that they’re finding it very difficult to work around.”
